Congratulations to the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart College Kensington Class of 2024 on your outstanding Higher School Certificate (HSC) results!
A quarter of our students received an ATAR above 85, with 93 per cent of results in Bands 4 to 6.
Our school continued to improve its rank, jumping eight places in state rankings to be just shy of the top 150 at 158.
We also recorded 61 Distinguished Achievers and two Top Achievers.
Amber Goodwin placed third in the state in Community and Family Studies, while Rianna Vassilopoulos placed 7th in Music.
Our students received two HSC showcase nominations, one for each of OnSTAGE and ENCORE.
There was a clear improvement with many key learning areas achieving more Band 6 results including TAS, CAPA, PDHPE, HSIE, Religion and English.
Notably, 79% of English Advanced results were a Band 5 or 6, with 25% of English Advanced results a Band 6.
Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Principal Gilda Pussich congratulated Year 12 and the teachers who supported them in their efforts.
“I was impressed and proud of the students’ results and they affirmed my confidence in the work of our teachers and leadership team,” she said.
“Key to the school’s success is our focus on building trust, strong relationships and a commitment to pursuing excellence amongst staff, students and their parents.”
Ms Pussich said OLSH was a community focused on learning, growth and student success, and the growth in HSC results reflected this.
“Strategies and initiatives have been implemented to instil curiosity, self-belief and courage in learning.” – Gilda Pussich, Principal
“These include bringing parents into the conversation to create personalised pathways, targeting students’ strengths, passions and areas for growth,” she said.
Ms Pussich said the Class of 2024 worked effectively and used their time wisely, knowing when to work collaboratively and when to work independently.
“They displayed resilience, working hard right to the end to get the best out of themselves.
“They balanced the demands of Year 12 with leadership, service to others and time to come together.”
