Fairfield has a history of transforming children’s lives for the better. That work is not possible without our dedicated teachers.One teacher who stands out is Gilda Pussich, principal of Mary MacKillop Catholic College Wakeley from 2018 to 2023. During her tenure, Gilda led the school to achieve its best ever HSC results in 2021, climbing 104 positions to 138th. That occurred again in 2022, with the school rising to the 134th position. Even more importantly, she has steered the school’s students to focus on social impacts within Fairfield. Many of her former students now advocate for public policy reform in Western Sydney. Gilda is a credit to the education system in New South Wales. I thank her for her service to Fairfield and Mary MacKillop Catholic College and her contribution to the lives of its amazing female students.
